19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was over.
However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional championship, took control to push for a third set.
He defended 4 early break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
